Left Norman’s bay campsite at about 1030 and stopped 2 km up the road for a fry up and to work out the route to Newhaven, decided to take the A27 as there were fewer hills then going over Eastbourne, anyone who has driven that road will know it often has traffic jams and today they were caused by me. I made Newhaven at about 6pm and checked out the port, had a brew then went for a meal returning at 8 pm to line up for the ferry. The gates opened at 10 pm and at 11 we boarded the ferry, Pippa had to go in a crate on the car deck while I tried to find somewhere to sleep. First night since getting her that we have not slept together. The ferry departed at midnight.
